I'm in love.

and love does strange, strange things to you.. it takes you to cloud no.9, 10,11,12,13,14,15.. keeps you from focusing at work..makes you drop grumpy sketches for smiley ones.. and simply makes you sigh and stare sheepishly into space..

IT'S THE DIY BACKGROUND EXERCISE AGAIN!

i thought the sketch of charlie might be a good potential piece to put in my portfolio.. so (feeling pressured for the interview on monday..) i went to fill in the colours and viola!

i would love to continue working on it tho.. it'll be nice to place it on a nice beachy background with the sun glistering on the water like diamonds.. trees dancing to the breeze..purple and orange clouds - oops sorry i got carried away for a moment there..hahahhah hope yoou're picturing it already! but for now kids.. pls let your imagination run freeee and fill in the missing elements into the bg of this piece.. hahahhha..

i was kinda surprised to received a msg from a fellow blogger asking me to do a caricate for his ADORABLE lil baby, Efe. hahhaha it was really a challenge cos i havent really done babies before..and not just babies y'all.. SMILING BABIES.. tsk if you ask me to do a bad ass pouting tood i think i prolly wouldnt have much of a problem.. BUT A CUTE HUGGABLE.. PINCHABLE BABY!!! now thats a real challange ;) but anyways i'm glad to be given a chance to! with every drawing i learn so many new things its thrilling!

my first roll of coloured slides

most of them didnt turn out so well.. perfect evidence of an inexperience lomo user working on asa100 slides.. hahaha TSK NEWBIE LEH WAT DO YOU EXPECT! tssssssk!

but i'm very surprised how different the colours turned out for different shots.. i've got green, blue, saturated burst of colours and its amazing! its not like just a standard colour for all shots you know wat i mean? The amazing thing abt lomo cameras - each shot is a surprise! ookkk maybe there is a formula to this.. but heck! so exciting! i wanna try it again!

A lil background info for you peeps, one of my galpal just got a new hair cut like a week ago and she was pretty bummed out over it.. but hey! it really didnt look half as bad! sure, it may look like a rainie yang rip off gone totally wrong, or this guy from BeeGees with 2 clip-on hair extensions.. BUT IT REALLY AINT SO BADDD!

the only lacking to complete the look is probably some C-O-N-F-I-D-E-N-C-E!
so next time.. just hold your head up high.. put your nose in the air.. AND GLARE AT ANYONE WHO STARES!

heelo peeps! long time no blog!

anyways, was down @ Red Dot museum today attending the OIC portrait day @ MAAD.
so basically peeps will sit down for like 10mins and we DRAW. hahahah
it was really a great and humbling experience, saw some pretty amazing work from some artists and managed to pick up a few tips as well.. (: (gonna put a couple of sketches up soon)

alsso.. at MAAD, i bought this book "Art of Modern Rock: Mini#2 Poster Girls"
its sooo lovely! just $24 and i got a compilation of hundreds of pieces of art with different styles!
omg so exciting!! ahah i think i'm beginning to see the value of art books cos they seem to have become more and more inspiring. i'm reallly excited abt going to the national library and checking out the art books there..just imagine! so much inspiration and ideas waiting for you there!!! ommmg!
seriously dudes and dudettes.. ITS TIME YOU DROP THE "LIBRARIES ARE FOR GEEKS LIKE MY COUSIN" mindset and head on down to your nearest library and be inspired!
