National day Telemovie Opening. "This is My home"

An animated opening i did for the Singapore National Day Telemovie "This is My Home"


Basically this opening is used to help establish a childhood friendship between the 2 lead characters (benny and grace) and of them having to separate cos the girl had to fly off to some where else. And then it'll help lead the audience into the main plot of the movie, after she returns to singapore 9 yrs later.. =)

pardon the little errors here and there they have all been fixed but somehow i just cant seem to find the final version.. so please make do with this for the time being =)
everything but the music was done by me. =))

I've been wanting to draw my boyfriend for a very veryveryvery lonnnng time but havent really got down to it until now! and i didnt realise until now how hard it isss!!! i've been trying hard perfecting the shape of his face and trying different expressions but i think this one still doesnt really do him justice..He has reallly beautiful eyes and i still cant seem to capture it here.. but anyways, kudos to my dearest honey, who's the most wonderful and patriotic singaporean guy i've ever met. =))))))

a tip from Maurice Noble

Hello alls!

Thought i'd just share this short poem with everyone of you reading this.. its taken from this wonderfully illustrated biographical book called "Noble Boy" by Scott Morse, which documents the life of an acclaimed artist named Maurice Noble.. so for most part it talks mostly abt this guy but at the last few pages of the "board book" Scott Morse did manage to squeeze in a tip or two which i think most of us artist out there might find useful =) ok cut the crap here it goes:

Lets talk some shop and ramble 'bout design just for a second.
The story's always the key was what Maurice had often reckoned.
Now, what's the thing you need to say with visuals and charm?
Is it appropriate to show or cause your story harm?

The shape and line define the form where stories often lay.
Texture adds the mood and colour choice comes into play.
Reach deep for something from your past, emotion held at bay.
Then scene by scene your tale evolves, informed by each new day.
The boldness of experience must often lead the way.

On the surface, graphics need immediate impact,
But at their heart, its love that always needs to stay intact.
A love of life... you draw from life, and let it fill your mind...
Then pull from things that made you feel.

That's how it's all designed.

How can someone teach these things?
It's not just something shown.
It's something sponged up face to face,
It's something slowly grown.

One thing, one rule, sticks out the best,
One trick you cant refute:


In your art, be BOLD.

Fisheye lomotion

thought i'd share with you guys my lastest lomography (fisheye No.2) pictures taken mostly during my batam and KL trip..and some sometime back..cos i thought i'll gather all my film rolls first before sending them for develope at one go. to my surprised! they turnout out pretty good (i guess experience really do help) while my 2 120mm film roll came out like crap.. most are either under exposed or came out blank (i have noooooo idea why) guess i'm still learning to get use to the new camera that joe bought for me soemtime back(diana F+).

my blog is getting a bit stagnant.. so i thought i'd just throw in a random page for my sketchbook to make it look new again.. tada! i know htere's lots of mistake in there.. but thats at sketchies are for right?!? to help you discover all the mistakes you might make before its too late. =)) hey it rhymes!

When does Love die? (from Penny's site. hehe)

was surfing penny's site and there she posted one very interesting question: 爱情， 什么时候算是死去呢？(when does love die out?)

and out of the 16 comments that were made, most of them mentioned this 2 factors: the absence of trust and communication, and one of them even noted: 其实，死掉的应该不是爱情，而是人的心。" (actually, love doesnt die, its the heart that does.) and all of which i really cant agree more.

love exist not because it is fated to be nor is it destinied that this 2 person are to be together forever-- but because 2 person made effort to make love happen.

sometimes i wonder if its possible to just communicate the good stuff in a relationship, cos obviously no one wants to hear the bad stuff, right? and then i wonder--- is that communication at all? cos communication (from wikipedia) means "Communication is the process whereby information is imparted by a sender to a receiver. " so i guess by information it prolly means a general term and that includes .. well..... everything.. right? so if you only say the good stuff then its prolly like taking one M out of the word, which results in "comunication" which isnt communication at all right??

am i making any sense?

forget sense! anyway, out of hte 16 comments i've found something that i really liked and it goes like this:
